Some
of the biggest names in insurance have joined forces to launch
a brand new company aimed at the lettings market.
Brian
Turney, former Managing Director at lettings insurance firm
Letsure and regarded by many as the face of the residential
lettings insurance industry, has teamed up with insurance
expert Peter Knowles and former senior colleagues Alan Holton
and Rob Jones to set up residential lettings insurance and
tenant referencing provider LetSense.
“We
have brought together the very best of the industry and drawn
on all of our experience to offer those operating in the lettings
market the finest possible service,” said Managing Director
Mr Turney, who has devoted more than 17 years to providing
products and services to the residential lettings market.
“We
have born witness to some of the market’s past and present
failings and our combined expertise will ensure our products
are unrivalled in the marketplace, improving agents’ overall
service offering to landlords.”
“This
is a very exciting time for the lettings market. The industry
is booming, particularly in the wake of the downturn in property
sales, and there is a gap in the market for superior lettings
insurance provisions.”
The
firm, which officially launches on October 20, has been backed
by insurance giant MMA Insurance plc, a major European insurer
and part of the Covéa Group.
LetSense
will initially offer tenant referencing and rent and legal
protection insurance services for letting agents, with a range
of other related products for agents, landlords and tenants
set to be unveiled in the coming months.
A
key element of the company’s offering to letting agents is
its new state-of-the-art software platform. This powerful
Internet-based technology enables agents to administer LetSense’s
product range electronically, eradicating costly and time
consuming paperwork.
Mr
Turney added: “This new system will be the most markedly user-friendly
and reliable software of its kind available to letting agents.
“Our
aim is to exceed the expectations of landlords, tenants and
agents and we will use all of our knowledge and experience
to ensure that this happens.”
The
quartet pull together almost a century of expertise in the
insurance industry.
Mr
Turney boasts 40 years insurance industry experience and played
a key role in establishing what has become today’s recognised
service model for the lettings industry.
With
22 years working at board level, he was instrumental in the
development of tenant referencing services and products such
as rent and legal protection, which have now become integral
to the market.
LetSense
Chief Executive Mr Knowles became well known during his time
heading up schemes business for Norwich Union before becoming
Strategy and Marketing Director at imarket. Earlier this year
he left his role as Market Director for General Insurance
at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to head up the
new venture.
Mr
Holton, LetSense Sales Director, boasts a wealth of knowledge
in the property insurance market after holding executive positions
at Letsure and Homelet.
Mr
Jones meanwhile, LetSense Operations Director, brings an abundance
of marketing and IT experience to the company, gained from
delivering solutions to businesses in insurance, retail, property
investment and mail order.

David
Greenaway appointed as Business Development Manager
23rd
October 2008 - Letsense Plc
LetSense,
the new residential lettings insurance and tenant referencing
provider, has appointed David Greenaway as Business Development
Manager.
David
has been a fully qualified financial adviser for more than
a decade and is a qualified mortgage adviser holding both
CeMap and CeFa.
Having
fostered strong relationships with lettings agents over many
years, helping to add value to their bottom line, he has developed
an in depth knowledge of the industry.
“I
am delighted that at LetSense we are putting the customer
first,” he said.
“Our
structure makes it possible for me to act as a key point of
contact with our customers, while being supported by a great
team at our offices and in the field.”
“Initial
reaction has been fantastic and the online environment for
submitting a tenant’s reference has had a very warm welcome.
This is particularly satisfying as we have worked hard to
make our platform seamless, easy on the eye, very user-friendly
and reliable.
“We
are therefore delighted with the terrific feedback we’ve had
from our agents in a matter of just a few days following our
launch.”
Sales
Director Alan Holton added: “To have someone with David’s
experience and credentials joining LetSense is a considerable
boost to our ambitions and vision for the company. We are
delighted to welcome him to our team.
“The
lettings market is extremely buoyant and the LetSense proposition
fits hand-in-glove with letting agent requirements to provide
a first rate service to their customers.
“With
little interruption to daily operations, it will enable them
to take full advantage of this market trend.
