and Martin & Co offer new cover for Landlords
Back in July 2008
Martin
& Co announced a three year deal with HomeLet. Now
in 2010 Martin & Co, together with lettings insurance specialist, HomeLet,
have developed an exclusive new Rent Guarantee product for landlords, called the
Martin & Co Promise. The new product combines comprehensive cover and extremely
competitive prices to provide landlords with market leading protection for their
rental income. The
Martin & Co Promise provides cover for missed rental payments with 100% of the
monthly rent paid for up to five months from the first arrears. It also covers
legal expenses for eviction costs and covers the whole property, no matter how
many tenants a landlord has. Landlords will also receive additional comfort because
even after vacant possession has been obtained they will still receive 75% of
the rent for two months whilst they look for new tenants. Commenting
on the new product Ian Wilson, Managing Director of Martin & Co, said: "As the
UK's leading residential lettings and property management franchise we need to
ensure that we're working with the very best providers in the industry and delivering
to our customers an unbeatable level of service and the best products on the market.
We've worked closely with HomeLet
for over five years and they've used our experience of residential lettings to
develop this new product and ensure that its features and benefits are tailored
to our landlords' needs. "At
Martin & Co we carry out professional references
on all of the tenants that we help to move. Sadly, in the majority of cases it's
a change in the tenant's circumstances that makes them unable to pay the rent.
This can put the landlord in a difficult situation, especially if their rent isn't
guaranteed. Naturally landlords may be sympathetic, but they still need their
rent. By choosing the Martin & Co Promise they can rest assured that they'll receive
the rent, and that everything will be taken care of for them by the experts in
HomeLet's experienced Legal and Claims team." Commenting
on the new product HomeLet
Managing Director, John Boyle, said "Last year we saw an increase in the number
of reported illegal evictions by landlords. Unfortunately I expect this figure
to increase again in 2010, which is disappointing. At HomeLet our expert property
legal specialists deal with the arrears in a professional manner, ensuring that
the tenant is treated fairly whilst the landlord still receives the rent. In those
cases where court proceeding are needed we take care of everything and support
the landlord every step of the way. "The
buy-to-let market offers a fantastic opportunity for long term investors, but
all too often you hear stories of landlords losing thousands of pounds in missed
rental payments. Anyone's circumstances can change, and with unemployment set
to remain high for some time, I'd strongly urge any landlord to protect their
rental income." Back

Also in June 2010 it has been announced that There are
a record breaking number of renewals for Martin & Co. The
Martin & Co network have had many reasons to celebrate over the past year, with
record breaking results and their domination of the industry’s national awards.
However 2010 has given some of the network’s award winning offices an additional
reason to toast to the future. Ten Martin & Co offices across the UK have reaffirmed
their commitment to the UK’s no.1 letting agent by renewing their franchise agreements
for another 5 years. All
these offices are great examples of how a franchise business partnership can achieve
outstanding results. The offices may not have to pay a fee to renew, but there
are strict criteria that they must meet in order to continue to fly the Martin
& Co flag. Part of the renewal process includes the franchise owners visiting
and meeting the head office team, as well as having a personal meeting with Group
MD Ian Wilson to discuss their business plan, and their vision for the next five
years. “Our
rise to the top has been quite remarkable, particularly over the past 5 years.
The foundation of our success has been the business partnership with our successful
and committed franchise owners, who not only drive their own business locally
but who are also vital in developing the brand as a whole. We are delighted to
be renewing our partnership with all of the offices, all of whom are a credit
to the brand.” commented Ian Wilson. The
offices have certainly seen a number of changes over the past 5 years. A strong
brand strategy over the last five years has transformed the group. The Martin
& Co website now has more visitors than any other lettings specialist’s website*!
The offices have also seen the introduction of the striking Martin & Co cars,
a powerful marketing tool utilised by all ten offices. The renewing franchise
owners have also seen the size of the group double in the last 5 years. The
future certainly looks bright for Martin & Co and their franchise owners as they
continue to invest in the brand and firmly establish themselves as the market
leading letting agent in the UK. The offices that have renewed are Bath, Belfast,
Caterham, Cheltenham, Guildford, Littlehampton, Milton Keynes, Twickenham, Woking
and York. *sourced from impartial web experts Alexa.com Source:
